Getting Started
How do I create a UniRooms account?▼
To create an account, click the 'Sign Up' button on our homepage. You can sign up as either a student looking for accommodation or a property owner. Provide your email, create a password, and follow the verification steps. Your account will be ready to use within minutes.
Is UniRooms available in my city?▼
UniRooms opens campus markets one at a time. Check the homepage for supported university areas, or request campus coverage if your campus is not listed yet.
Do I need to verify my email?▼
Yes, email verification is required to ensure account security and to send you important updates. After signing up, check your email for a verification link. Click the link to verify your account.
Finding Accommodation
How do I search for student housing?▼
Use our search bar on the homepage to enter your location, budget, and other preferences. You can filter results by price range, proximity to universities, amenities, and more. Click on properties to view details, photos, and reviews.
What information can I see in property listings?▼
Property listings include descriptions, photos, price, location context, nearby amenities, owner information, student feedback where available, and availability details. Contact accommodation providers through UniRooms to ask additional questions.
How do I contact an owner about a property?▼
Once you find a property you like, open the listing details and contact the owner through UniRooms. Owners review student inquiries and viewing requests, then arrange next steps with you directly.
Can I save properties to view later?▼
Yes! Click the heart icon on any property to add it to your saved list. You can access your saved properties anytime from your profile dashboard.
How do I contact an accommodation provider?▼
You can contact owners or accommodation providers from the listing page by choosing Message owner, Contact owner, or Request details. Keep early conversations on UniRooms so there is context if you need support.
Listing Properties
How do I list my property on UniRooms?▼
If you are a property owner, log in to your account and click 'List a Property'. Follow the form to add property details, photos, price, amenities, and house rules. Your listing will be reviewed by our team before going live, usually within 24-48 hours.
What information should I include in my listing?▼
Include a clear description of the accommodation, multiple high-quality photos of rooms and shared areas, accurate pricing, nearby amenities and landmarks, utilities included or separate, house rules, availability, and contact preferences. The more detailed your listing, the more useful student inquiries you will receive.
How does UniRooms help property owners?▼
UniRooms helps owners reach students, organize inquiries, and build trust. Rent, deposits, and agreements are handled directly between you and the student renter.
How do I upload photos to my listing?▼
On the property listing form, you will find a photo upload section. You can upload multiple photos by clicking 'Add Photos'. We recommend uploading 10-15 clear, well-lit photos showing all rooms and common areas. Photos must be in JPG, PNG, or similar formats.
Can I edit my listing after it is published?▼
Yes, you can edit your listing anytime from your dashboard. Click on your property and select 'Edit'. You can update price, description, photos, availability, and other details. Changes take effect immediately.
Account & Profile
How do I update my profile information?▼
Log in to your account and click on your profile icon or 'Settings'. From there, you can update your name, email, phone number, profile picture, and other personal information.
How do I reset my password?▼
On the login page, click 'Forgot Password'. Enter your email address, and we will send you a link to reset your password. Click the link and create a new password.
How do I delete my account?▼
Go to your account settings and look for 'Delete Account' or 'Close Account'. Note that deleting your account is permanent and will remove your saved rooms, inquiries, and listings. Contact support if you need help.
Can I have multiple accounts?▼
We recommend having one account per person. Using multiple accounts with the same email or phone number may violate our terms of service.
Safety & Security
How can I verify if a property or owner is legitimate?▼
Check the listing details, review owner information, visit the accommodation in person before committing, and use UniRooms report tools if anything feels suspicious. Be cautious of listings with unusually low prices or pressure to pay before a viewing.
What should I do if I suspect a scam?▼
Do not send money before you have confirmed the accommodation and owner details. Report suspicious listings or payment pressure to our support team immediately using the Report button on the listing page. We review reports and can take action on risky listings.
Is my personal information safe on UniRooms?▼
We take data security seriously and use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your information. We never share your personal data with third parties without your consent. Review our privacy policy for details.
How do I report inappropriate behavior?▼
If you experience harassment, discrimination, or other inappropriate behavior, report it immediately using the 'Report User' or 'Report' button. Our support team will investigate and take appropriate action.
Technical Issues
UniRooms is not loading or is crashing. What should I do?▼
Try the following: refresh the page, clear your browser cache or cookies, log out and log back in, reopen the installed web app if you use it from your home screen, or try a different browser. If the problem persists, contact our support team with details about what you were doing.
I did not receive a confirmation email. What should I do?▼
Check your spam or promotions folder. If you still cannot find it, try logging in to your account. If login fails, use 'Forgot Password' to reset. If you continue having issues, contact support.
Can I use UniRooms on my phone?▼
Yes, UniRooms works on smartphones, tablets, and computers. You can use it directly in your browser or install it to your home screen as a web app on supported devices.
How do I install UniRooms on my phone or computer?▼
Open UniRooms in your browser. On Chrome, Edge, and other supported browsers, use the browser's Install or Add to Home Screen option. On iPhone or iPad, open UniRooms in Safari, tap Share, then choose Add to Home Screen. Once installed, sign in normally and use UniRooms like any other app shortcut.

How do I find accommodation near my university?▼
Use our location pages to browse options near selected university areas. We have dedicated pages for Legon (University of Ghana), Kumasi (KNUST), and Cape Coast (UCC). You can also search by university name or use the general search.
What's the best way to search for rooms in Accra or Legon?▼
Visit our Legon page or use the search feature and filter by the Accra/Legon area. You can sort by price, distance to campus, or student ratings. Check reviews from other Legon students to learn about neighborhoods.
Which areas in Kumasi have the most student accommodation?▼
Popular student areas in Kumasi include Adum (central), Suame (near KNUST), Tafo, Patasi, and Kentikrinti. Our Kumasi page lists accommodations in these areas. Check the neighborhood details in each listing.
How much does student accommodation cost?▼
Prices vary by campus area and room type. In the current Ghana launch market, listings are shown in GHS. Browse listings to compare current prices in your preferred university area.
Can I pay rent in installments or payment plans?▼
Some accommodation providers may offer flexible payment terms. Discuss payment plans, deposits, receipts, and agreements directly with the owner or provider. UniRooms does not collect rent or deposits.
Is accommodation available year-round?▼
Yes, accommodation can be available throughout the year. Availability is often highest around student intake periods, so plan ahead, save searches, and contact owners early during busy periods.
